Mapanghi! Maingay! Madumi! Magulo!

ganda ng calaguas before.
ReplyDeletekatakot yung calaguas ngayon..
chyng ur#1 best beach..anu na nangyyri..?kalungkot nmn
Deletemaganda pa rin ang calaguas ngaun :)
Deletego to a desolated island if you don't want crowd. and the comparison is too vague, morning shot and night shot. LOL
DeleteSige, ill make a video of the night shot of Calaguas years ago to the night shot of Calaguas this past weekend..
DeleteYeah.. Calaguas Island was supposedly desolate thats why we go there. Yeah we dont want the noise. Calaguas Island was supposed to be our haven. So ganun nalang pagka natuklasan naming nature lovers tapos gusto nyong sirain hahanap nalang kami ng iba? i think that way of thinking wrong. di ba pwede lahat ng islands ay desolate nalang to keep it pristine?
we have more than enough beaches for you party goers..
Deleteyou have puerto galera, you have boracay. your have el nido. you have anawangin. you have saud.. you have bolinao..
tapos ung kaisaisa na pinupuntahan naming island life lovers sisirain nyo na rin like what happened to other beaches? i think your reasoning is wrong.. VERY wrong.
maganda padin.pabalik balik nga ako.i do understand they put up gimiks on summer kasi peak.change is inevitable.they have to compete with other organizers.besides wa naman kuryente jan, so i dont think the noise can be wholeday as compared to galera or bora.
Deletechange is inevitable...wala tayo magagawa dun.i understand the gimiks kasi summer.organizers do really compete with each other.maganda pa din naman.don't sound as if nandidiri kayo.its clean.our organizer is an environmentalist.i know kung kanino yang nakapost na yan.talk to him i guess.hope he can read this.di naman ata lahat organizers active sa sites.
DeleteYes i do agree that change is inevitable but i hope that its for the better.
DeleteAnd i'm saying this again and again, we are not naming any organizers responsible for this, we are not close minded na ni lalahat namin lahat ng organizers for this issue. Please do understand that.
Yes hindi whole day me tugtugan but what we've experienced, till after midnight maingay na ung ibang guests di makatulog, di naman pwede matulog ng tuloy tuloy sa umaga kasi panu mo maeenjoy ang calaguas.
We do hope that our effort in reaching any LGU regarding this issue will have a good turn-out. Thanks.
Sobrang nagulat ako when I went there End of Weekend siya Sunday. And dami nang tao. Pero ...2010 - 2012 a mere 2 Years SPAN of time, and THAT Span of time, may Trash na sa Island. Hindi lang siguro toh para sa mga Turista or sa mga Grupo ng turista, wala namang dapat pag-awayan... sa magtulungan nalang, even the Locals who's staying there inform them to take care of the Island at kailangan Disiplina for the People who's going there. Sobrang nalungkot lang talaga ako. Wag sanang lumalala yung sitwaxon sa Calaguas. Nakakatakot makita ang future ng Calaguas pag-ganyan. Can People Pick-up their own Trash and Bring it w/ them.
Deletebuti na lang I never attempted to walk close to that Party area. haay Calaguas.
Deletewent there 2009 or 2010? it was almost a barenaked island and its perfect. I've seen photos of firedancing and stuff nowadays, and its like they are making Calaguas into an island its not supposed to be. Just because of money generated from such party tours. Tsk tsk.
DeleteWe are not pointing out that the entertainment yung nakakasira sa environment but they lead to being irresponsible and insensitiveness. Yes some people enjoy them, but lahat ba ng guest sa calaguas yun ang gusto. 2am super lakas ng sounds, sigawan at generator.
DeleteHello guys, personal friend ko kasi yung group that has fire dancing on their activities. I have to agree that it is solely for entertainment purposes and I think there is nothing wrong with that. With regards dun sa sound till 2 am last weekend, their group has a 12 AM lights off rule to give respect for those who want to sleep early and we know that kaya nga nagtaka kami kasi 1 am may ilaw pa and we asked them and they've said pinaubos lang nila yung gasolina nung generator and at the same time, nag eearly preparation sila for the breakfast next day.
DeleteDon't worry, I've shared this blog post to them so that one step at a time, if there's something to correct on their travel group, they will do the necessary adjustments, after all, We Love Calaguas and we want to share it to those who want to experience the BEST BEACH IN THE COUNTRY. :)
Thanks also for sharing it to them and for being open minded for any necessary adjustments needed for the preservation of Calaguas. We are also hoping to get in touch soon with the local gov't for better eco-tourism plans for Calaguas. Thanks.
DeleteYour welcome. I just hope and wish that people commenting on this post should not judge that Calaguas is already dirty and filthy like Boracay and Puerto Galera. The Beach is 2 km and in all fairness, there's still some quiet and serene spots in the island. All we need to do is to address small issues such as waste disposal and proper development.
DeleteAnd to clear things out, I'm not connected with that anonymous comment-er na wala nang kwenta ang pinagsasabi. I was born and raised in Cam. It's our tourism jewel to keep up with Cam Sur kaya gagawin ko lahat para manatili ang kagandahan at kaayusan ito kahit alam kong simpleng mamamayan lang ako. :)
Yup, I stressed that out in the post. na OO! maganda parin naman ang Calaguas but we need to do something to stop the start of the turmoil.
DeleteIts not as dirty as puerto galera but it IS dirty as compared to other years. As I said, I walked down the beach at about 3 PM and collected and filled 1 big garbage bag pero di ko parin nakuha lahat ng nakita ko.
Thanks for your concern and we are really thankful that people like you comments and shares our advocacy in keeping calaguas a gem.
It's my duty as a citizen of Cam. Norte. :)
DeleteMy only prayer is that I can voice out next year all the concerns and future plans that was posted here if only our family friend will win as mayor of Vinzons. At least I can say personally to him the proper development that we all want for the island.
P.S. Walang halong biro ito and hindi early campaign. Hehe. :P
Yeah, my first time in Calaguas is 2009. Grabeh ang pristine pa noon!
DeleteHindi naman issue na maraming tao. Issue yung maraming ingay at mas malala, maraming BASURA.
nakakalungkot naman!
ReplyDeletedi lang nakakalungkot. nakakatakot
Deleteyes..i was just here last April 28-29..some parts of the island were badly abused by tourists..ibang iba siya sa Calaguas na nakita ko a few months back..there should be a regulating body para di maexploit ang beach ng Calaguas..
ReplyDeleteparehas tayo. April 28 - 29. ANG PANGHI talaga
Deletetsk tsk. sinong tour organizer kaya ang nagdala nyan? last year sounds, lights at band lang ah.
I did not do this to bash tours and operators cause they can mind their own business but if they ruin something I love. Then thats the time I stand up..
Delete3 ang bars ang music sounds ang nakita ko that night. lahat me generetaor na maingay at lahat mapanghi.. lahat ng sides ng calaguas kinuha
saddening. nakita din namin yung mga basura around the area and makes me think anong silbi ng environmental fee kung di naman talaga nama-maintain.
ReplyDeleteI roamed around the beach at aroung 3 PM and I was able to collect almost 1 full garbage bag of trash pero andami ko pang hindi nakuha kasi andami talaga
ReplyDeletehindi naman sayang ah... madami nga nakakadiscover ng lugar na yun, so its not sayang diba...
Deleteand people go there because it had always been presented as a place of peace and quiet-tahimik, maganda, malinis, paraiso. since nababago na, it has been presented in this blog the way it is now. so later on, pag di natigil ang gawaing ganito, calaguas will be known as mapanghi, maingay, madumi, magulo..magiging sayang
DeleteHaiz nakaka-dismaya how irresponsible these people are. Let's save Calaguas.
ReplyDeleteThats the right word. Nakakadismaya lalo na pag naexperience mo first hand. huhu
Deletecalaguas? it's safe. Buti nga may mga nag aalaga ng lugar dun, maybe nagkataon lang na nung pumunta kayo dun eh hindi maganda yung pangyayari, nasa tao naman yan. and i beliv dat calaguas still safe, natutulungan pa nila yung mga native dun.
DeleteI have a friend who went there and experienced a fgith between locals from the barrio and drunk kids throwing bottles at each other. that was 1 month ago.
DeleteI have a reader who was slashed in the middle of the morning by a broken beer bottle thrown right in the middle of the beach.
I have plenty of friends who have harrowing stories that are scared of sharing it to the world because of how the supporters of the mobile bars react..
Nakakadismaya ang ginawa nila. I am a proud bikolano myself and after reading (and watching), its a big disappointment.. this used to be a haven for nature lovers and people who just want to some peace.
ReplyDeleteMay this be a wake up call. Lets save, not just Calaguas, but also other havens that used to be paradise.
rapz
-Buruyungan Mountaineering Club-
Nakakadismaya. This would be a correct word that would best describe this. I am a Bikolano myself and after reader (and watching) this, its such a shame that they trashed one of the beautiful havens that can be found in Bikolandia.
ReplyDeleteMay this be a wake up call not just to us but to all the people. Lets start thinking of saving, not just Calaguas, but other places as well.
rapz
-Buruyungan Mountaineering Club-
Nakakalungkot at nakakadismaya. :(
ReplyDeleteSo I'm scratching it off my list, until something is done.. Because I would rather not go there than visit it and find it this way.. Local government should be stern and implement rules that is both beneficial to humans, both locals & tourists, and to the environment. More for the environment!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're one of the many who now have voiced out disheartening conditions of Calaguas. Nagpaparty sila ngaun, kumikita sila ngaun, pero hanggang kelan?! Sila lang din yung pumapatay sa Calaguas.. Enough said. May this be a wake up call!
i visited calaguas and stayed for 7 nights, to compensate the long trip from manila. so far i have not heard of anybody break my record stay. planning to go back sometime this year and maybe break my own record.
ReplyDelete...love the place because of the relaxation, serenity... my kind of paradise.
SANA HINDI TUTOO ANG LAHAT NG MASASAMANG COMMENT AND BAD IMAGE na nabasa ko dto.
If serenity is what you want. You might want to visit only during the weekdays. During weekends though, it becomes the dingy at smelly place I described above.
ReplyDeletesana maaksyonan to! we have the same experience.. pero di pa naman mapanghi and madumi last year.. maingay lang! pagsabihan yung mga kumukuha ng package tour. may mga dala pang mobile and may show pa.. may nagbubuga pa ng apoy haha ginawang disco at perya.. sayang!
ReplyDeletesana maaksyonan yan! we have the same experience.. pero di pa naman mapanghi at madumi last year. maingay lang! pagsabihan yung mga kumukuha ng mga tour package may mga dala pa silang mobile tapos may show pa.. may nagbubuga pa ng apoy ginawang circus at disco. dapat orient din nila yung mga pupunta don na wag magkalat at respeto sa ibang pumupunta don wag silang super ingay! sana maghigpit mga locals don. sayang super ganda calaguas. ka high blood kabwisit sila haha
ReplyDeleteAwwww!!! pinag mamalaki q pa naman sa mga friends q yan na sobrang ganda!! actually kakarefer q lng sa friend q na best beach in phils ang calaguas. nagpplan xa pumunta. sana maging responsible ang mga tao to maintain calaguas natural beauty and serenity na rin! hayy..
ReplyDeleteI've never been there yet, and masisira na?? We don't need another Boracay or Puerto Galera. I hope the local government will take notice! Not everything is about money!
ReplyDeletewe experienced it last year. kakalungkot nga. hopefully it will be resolved.
ReplyDeletehindi "development" tawag dun kundi "destruction".
We have a post that Calaguas is our best beach in the Phil and is still is. And we are raising this issue kasi we are seeing that if this continues eventually masisira sha. Yes sa ngayon hindi pa sha ganun ka "destructed" but what if dumami na yung ganun. dati 1 mobile bar lang, nung pumunta kami 3 na in a span of months. what will happen in a span of 1 year. if tuloy tuloy na walang disiplina ang mga tao masisira ang environment. Discipline and rules and regulations ang needed here.
DeleteWala kaming pinipin-point na organizer na makalat, maingay. We observed na kahit after party e makalat pa din, maybe also its not the organizers fault na makalat, pero what i see is pwedeng hindi nila nakokontrol yung mga ibang participants sa pagkakalat o pag ihi sa iba iba.. Everyone must be responsible. Isa pa 2am na super ingay pa. hindi naman lahat ng tao e gusto ng party , they should also be sensitive that others are sleeping and went there for peace and quiet, in the first place dun nakilala ang calaguas.
Also, shempre for us we want to stay it as virgin as it is, but we are not close-minded sa development even kung maging boracay sha. We are even trying to contact the local government so that we will have a clear point on what are their plans for calaguas, for it to be a virgin beach or a party place. Of course hindi naman kasi kami talaga ang me hawak kung anu magiging ang calaguas pero if ever na gawin shang bora dapat malinis pa din at di pa din masira ang calaguas. even boracay is still clean at me rules and regulations na bawal ganito bawal ganyan which is wala sa calaguas.
Calaguas is for EVERYONE that is why we want others to experience what we've experienced nung first na punta namin, peacefulness of Calaguas.
I also agree sa mga points sa 2 replies dito. Important is be Sensitive and Responsible. Also Guidelines and Control. We are still reaching for Cam Norte Tourism / Local Gov't. Thanks!
DeleteI can help you with the piso!
DeleteSad! Sad! For the place that I love, this is very sad. Sometimes, I blame also myself for promoting the place. But i wanted others also to experience the raw beauty of Calaguas, but then some people just really do not know how to take care of her. Wake up everyone, Boracay and Puerto Galera are enough!
ReplyDeleteYun nga e. parang todo promote ako dati. Sabi nga ng kaibigan ko. kasalanan mo din to men kasi kayo ung nagbloblog. PERO ang pinopromote natin is the serenity of the beach e. Yun dapat tlga. kea disheartening ung nangyayari.
DeleteI guess you guys should also put more emphasis on conservation ideas and environmental awareness (like Leave No Trace policies) in your blogs.
DeleteLike Anawangin, before only mountaineers know the place but now that it's all over the blogs, you can see the degradation of that place due to the huge environmental footprint of human activities.
Check your audience, maybe your blogs are directed to the crowd who have nothing but "party" in their minds. It's one thing to promote tourism of the place, but it's another to invite undisciplined and unruly crowds.
Thanks for the idea. Thats one of the things I thought because we were one of the catalysts of bringing this pristine island to popularity. Will sure give your idea a thought and think of putting environmentalism as the focus of this blog.
Deletewe mountaineers should be the first in line to save these places
it's nice to hear that you too, Dane, came to that realization... sometimes, due to our excitement to blog our experiences, we often forget the domino effect of these actions...
Deletebut hey, it's never too late! we can still encourage our readers to be more responsible and disciplined!
the discussions here might not please everyone, but never mind, it's still a reminder that there are still A LOT of people who really cares. not just for their own benefit.
more power!
Thank you for having an open-mind, Sir Dane. We mountaineers really love the outdoors and we also wanted to share our adventures with other people as well.
DeleteHowever we should remind ourselves that whenever we share these adventures, we become partly responsible for those people's actions.
This responsibility is somehow managed in hiking clubs and outdoor groups which maintain close monitoring and guidance on their members.
Your case --and other bloggers-- is a bit more complicated. Whenever you post information in the net, you cannot control who gets such information and how will they use it.
The next best thing to do then is to ensure that the readers are fully aware of the environmental impact of such activities and continuously remind them that they are also responsible for keeping the place in its original state.
Best of luck in your new endeavor and I hope that other bloggers will follow your example as well.
I like the discussion here.
I was really looking forward to visiting Calaguas this year. But I guess I'll have to write it off my list until this problem gets resolved.
ReplyDeleteThe things people do to our beautiful beaches just to generate income. Tsk tsk tsk.
ReplyDeletethis is bad.
Deleteproblems exaggerated by vague facts and eyewitnesses. LOL
ReplyDeleteBUT still. looking at your comment. you yourself admitted that there are problems.
Deleteeven in minute details, problems that are ignored can cause a monstrosity in the long run.
i'm just curious how many times the blogger have been there in the past months or the past year to have a conclusive information on what really is happening. what is the reason behind the reason behind the reason that is happening. sisihin ang tourist, sisihin ang travle agency. LOL. after a few weeks this will be nothing but a blog, unless you know what really is the problem.
DeleteNope. Ive been there only twice and yes, I concluded only because of my second experience only. The first time was a long long time ago. But its kind of disheartening to see the things that are going around. Thats why i concluded and shared. Actually kahit ngayon this is just a blog. Nothing but a blog. Am I saying that this is more? no! this is just a post on my blog and if you have a separate opinion, might as well post it in your blog too right?
DeleteAnd if you read the post very very well. you can see that I didnt name names. I didnt say any tours. I didnt say any locals. I just pointed out the stench of the urine and the gasoline and the noise up until 2 AM. did I stress out on tours? on locals? nanisi ba ako? nope. I was just sad
DeleteWe've just visited calaguas last weekend for this year. But of course before raising this issue and the things we've experienced that weekend, we asked around calaguas of the situation there, from the locals, to other tourists etc.
DeleteWe are really devoted on this issue that is why we just didn't post this blog but we are also trying to contact the local gov't / tourism also to ask specific questions on the issue and hear their side or other groups' side.
problems ignored by apathetic and insensitive people. LOL
ReplyDeleteNakakalungkot naman at nakakapanghinayang.
ReplyDeleteNakakatawa yung anonymous na nangko-comment. trying so hard to defend something. Whoever you are, you're obviously not getting the point people are raising here. Read each lines, feel the spaces between each words, see through their sentiments 'cause people in this post echo absolutely the same concerns! We don't need another Bora, especially in Calaguas! Period. Lahat ng alam mong meron sa Bora, leave it there... You're talking about development? Sustainable development sana ang nasa isip natin. This is not all about money.
ReplyDeletei cant understand why all of the people insisting Calaguas will be the next Bora who said so?
DeleteI think kaya namemention ang bora kasi Boracay is known for the party stuff, developed land etc. contradictory sa original nature ng Calaguas which is a virgin, peaceful beach.
DeleteWell, For us authors of this blog, Our sentiment is not to dictate on what we like for Calaguas to be coz who are we to do so. But what we really want to stress out is for everyone to be responsible and sensitive in their actions para hindi masira ang Calaguas so that others can experience it too. Also mgkaron ng guidlines or rules and regulations to promote eco-tourism there.
That is why we are also contacting the local gov't / toursim para malaman din namin kung anu ung vision nila for Calaguas.
Hi Melvic
DeleteI know that other comments pertain to your tours, I know that the one on the video was not yours. Sorry but I can't control the likes of Joel to bash on you because you were the one copied by the others.
I didnt name names because I really do not know you guys and this is the first time I really heard all of your names and tours. And to stress this out, I am not exagerating the facts that I said in this post. Mapanghi talaga, Maingay talaga hanggang 2 AM at me kakilala pa ko nasugatan because of broken bottles
Nandun ka last weekend at alam mong maingay hanggang 2 AM. Im not saying that its yours pero maingay talaga at mapanghi talaga at amoy gasolina talaga.
Ang gusto ko lang patunguhan nitong post na to is magkaroon ng firm stand ang local tourism office at magkaroon ng maayos at mahigpit na rules and regulations para mapantiling maganda malinis at mabango ang islang mahal natin. YUN LANG, yung may gawin ang local govt about this hindi ung para tayong mga tangang nagsasagutan online habang sila nakatunganga
History is telling us. saw bora 1970's?
DeleteAnyway, I don't have anything against Bora (i guess), but one is enough for this country (Party and all that)...
Sana maging mas responsible tayong lahat.
We are all learning (I hope).
Ever since I saw the beauty of Calaguas, I fell in love with it. And I won't let it be like Boracay or Galera.
ReplyDeleteLet's stand up for responsible tourism and ecotourism!
Preserve the beauty of nature.
buy the island so you can do whatever you want with it.
ReplyDeleteYah. actually that's part of my plan.
DeleteMaybe you should tell that to the tours too. to buy the island so they can do whatever they want with it. right? same opinion for you Mr. Anonymous
why buy it and do something about it after, if you can do the later for free?. anyway, who owns it currently?
Deletewalalang. if i have the money and if I can buy it then why not? its a very good way of helping the island. I think nobody owns it right now. Or the govt? sorry i really dont know
Deletecalaguas is a private beach...
DeleteMy first time at Calaguas was just last weekend. And sadly I am beginning to see her growing up to be the next Boracay...I am still grateful though that I have seen her without any towering structures. Though I do not know what's wrong with our fellow Filipinos...
ReplyDeleteMONEY... very very few local government would shy away from it and ....
ReplyDeleteENVIRONMENT.. is always last on their agenda....
SUSTAINABLE... is not reach by their I.Q.
i've never been to bora, will not wish to.
'been to galera not too impress,,
been to a small island community with few tourist, quiet peaceful, not at all expensive, delicious fresh food, community is environmentally aware.
it is in......
somewhere in....
Oops i'd rather not say, someone here might want to bring their trashy party there
I was there last weekend. At talagang MAINGAY ang @CALAGUASTour. Pumunta kami ng Calaguas to enjoy the serenity, but @CALAGUASTour DESTROYED IT. My colleagues can attest to the trash that @CALAGUASTour never cared to pick up at the beach, because they went over @CALAGUASTour' spot the morning after.
ReplyDeleteWe'll report @CALAGUASTour to the Mayor of Paracale, Vinzons and Daet to ban @CALAGUASTour and their tour group. We'll inform the Brgy. Captain as well. We have connections. We'll prevent @CALAGUASTour from destroying the beauty of Calaguas again.
Yes. maingay talaga at hindi lang isa. walking around I saw 3 of them. I dont really know the tour operators and actually nung una nga akala ko parang locals lang.
DeleteI dont like to name names kasi di ko tlga alam na tour facilitators ang gumagawa nun. I thought that they were just a group that brings sound system.
thanks for ur environmental concern however ur barking at the wrong tree ur talking about the ' other' tour organizer po take note of ur footage its not my genset nor my signage
Deletei appreciate ur taking ur complaints to the lgu which is proper unlike some who put me in a bad light always online. in that way i can clear my name and our tours. to reiterate calaguas hullabaloo is an environment advocate and you are welcome to join our annual coastal clean up since we share same passion
We didn't name names and we didn't point out specifically who are responsible for this. That is why we are also taking it to the LGU because we are not solely blaming tour organizers for this.
DeleteThanks for your thought and we do not want to have any misunderstandings to anyone.
ReplyDeleteThats why Im doing this. "para may magawa ako para sa Calaguas" to spread awareness.
DeleteIm not criticizing 1 tour operator. Im criticizing the stench, noise and the trash of the Island.
yes, may gagawin ako. pupunta mismo ako dun to see for myself, and not base everything on a second hand information.
DeleteYup. thats what I did last weekend. No second hand infos here man. no second hand infos.
Delete@anonymous. And after going there and you've experienced the same thing. What is your plan?
Deleteget names, get pictures, get videos, and share it with everyone =D. talk about opening a dam full of $hit. then again, I like to do RCA, there should be 2 dozen why I can ask to understand the whole picture.
DeleteThat would be a great idea. Also to stress out, this is just our first step to raise the issue and we are still working on it coz its really a step by step plan. It's really best if you have a first hand experience on the matter. So goodluck to your future trip in Calaguas.
DeleteA for effort for this anonymous guy! palakpakan! hehe
Deletekelan po kuha ung video so we can trace the so called party organizers?
ReplyDeleteApril 28-29 2012 maam. last weekend lang.
DeleteTsk tsk tsk very sad :(
ReplyDeleteA for effort for the anonymous guy! haha palakpakan!
ReplyDeletenakakatawa at nakakaawa at the same time. gawa ka nalang din ng blog mo tapos make it viral. tapos! tse!
sila ba?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.vagabondpinas.com/tours/
they had a scheduled trip during that dates

Hello. I really dont know. The hard part on this is that this past weekend was a long weekend thats why almost all, and I mean ALL, tour operators had an organized trip to Calaguas.
DeleteIf will have an estimate then I can say that Calaguas, that weekend, almost had a thousand people in it, about 40 boats parked outside the shore and about 200 tents pitched on the beach thats why i really really do not know and I cant name names as of the moment.
And FIY, I really didnt know at first that they were tour facilitators, I just thought that they were a group of people that built a house in the middle of the Island to play loud and irritating music until 2 AM.
kaya naman pala sobrang dumi at mapanghi kasi nakataon "long weekend "nyo nakita...tsk.tsk.tsk.
Deletesa dami ng mga namasyal sa Calaguas that "long weekend"para mag enjoy,di na kakayanin na on- the-spot malinis, mabango & matahimik ang lugar..next time siguro kung gusto nyo tahimik na lugar stay away kayo to places na tourist belt...taga Camarines Norte ako but sad to say di ko pa nakita ang Calaguas Island..kasi very expensive ang fee ng mga tours & take note local na ako ng province na yan...tama na sa akin ang BAGASBAS BEACH...libre pa...!!!! cheers to everyone...Mabuhay ang Camarines Norte...!!!!!!
i think hindi maganda yung mentality na pag madaming tao mahirap panatilihin na malinis at maayos ang isang place. that's why we should promote eco-tourism kasi eventually pag maganda ang isang place, dadami at dadami talaga ang pumupunta dyan but definitely dapat di reason yun para mgsuffer ang lugar.
Deletetungkol naman sa katahimikan, i think ung past 12mn tas maingay pa din is just insensitive to others kahit pa tourist belt ang isang lugar.
Well para sa akin one of the best beaches pa din ang calaguas. Thanks.
I think everyone should be sensitive to everyone's needs. Di porke maraming tao, it's hard to maintain the cleanliness of a place. If every one of us just throws our garbage in the right place, then 0 kalat di ba!
Deletesad. i, like many others who want peace and quiet, want to visit and experience the beauty of calaguas too. i believe that's the charm of the place. i was disappointed to read about this but had this thought already that calaguas might not be that charming on weekends, when a lot of people visit the beach. sadly, we can not really expect all the 'visitors' and beach goers to be responsible and sensitive to others. experienced that when we went to nagsasa cove on a summer weekend. there are just groups who do not seem to care about the other groups they are sharing the place with. but i believe that we can still save calaguas. we can talk with or write a letter to the barangay or local government about the situation and have focus group discussions with them (officials and locals). we can lay our suggestions regarding the problems and ask them also about their ideas on how they can help preserve the beauty of their place. we can turn this into something positive. there should be rules that will be strictly implemented, such as curfew on loud sounds (even boracay has set a curfew),bring your own trash, etc. the key is strict implementation. rules are nothing if not followed (i'm reminded of oslob's situation). i want to be hopeful.
ReplyDeleteMy main goal here is for us to reach out to the local tourism office of Cam Nor to make them decide what image they want Calaguas to be. Because as I see it, the MAIN problem here is that the local tourism office is doing NOTHING about the issue. Calaguas Island doesn't have do's and dont's as of the moment which I think IS very very wrong. Rules and Guidelines must be enforced. Not having etiquettes made us all right and wrong one way or another.
ReplyDeleteexactly. i hope something good will turn out from this. (btw, kindly delete my second comment. thought the first one did not appear.)
DeleteYou can contact the Provincial Tourism Office of Cam. Norte on this fanpage -> https://www.facebook.com/cometo.camnorte
DeleteThe Page Admin is the Prov. Tourism Officer, Atty. Debbie Francisco. Hope that Helps! I'm a native of Cam. Norte and I want to keep Calaguas it's title (Travel Bloggers Perpective) as the best beach in the country. :)
Here's a blog also about the Calaguas issue, but with names.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.angkulet.com/2012/05/02/the-mess-that-is-calaguas-island/
That night, 3 tour operators/organizers brought "parties", Calaguas Hullaballoo, Northlink and the team with the Calaguas Virgin Island Saga shirts.
Of the 3 party groups that night, Northlink was the worst! Their generator was right on the beach, noisy and spewing the smell of gasoline. And their loud noise and music played until 2AM! Yung host pa nila may sinabi sa mic "Oh, yung mga may issue diyan sa tugtugan namin, dun nalang kayo sa isla sa tapat yung lumulubog, lumilitaw". Bastos talaga eh.
I think katabi namin yung group na ngstay up till 2AM. And yes asa me beach yung generator nila na super ingay at super baho. Meron pa silang mga contest and super ang hiyawan till after midnight. Very insensitve and yes Bastos!
DeleteI joined the Calaguas tour from Travel Factor last april and I'd say I'm glad I did because they instructed us on respecting the place and fellow campers from other tours. Yeah, I saw that one with the bar and sounds... was disappointed because the no.1 reason we went there is to enjoy the serenity of the place, eh parang boracay nung gabi. The toilet is super dirty and there are plenty of trash on the campsite of the group who had that mobile DJ... buti na lang medio malayo kami but I can imagine the irk of those who are near. Epic fail.
ReplyDeletei haven't been to calaguas... and i've always wanted to be there. for me, the best beaches are those that are unadulterated. i hope i can go to there before other people make a really big mess out of it. sayang naman ang ganda ng pilipinas...
ReplyDeleteone thing na napansin ko during that occasion, maraming mga bangka na maliliit, and galing daw sa ibang isla. yun ibang locals umiinom ng alak sa paligid ng band.. i think sila yun nag ihi sa coastline at kung saan saan naman, the following day makikita mo yun bote ng mga gin at matador.. meron environmental fee na kino collect eh pero the following day wala naman nag lilinis na brgy official or tanod sa shoreline. tsk, pero sisingilin ka ng 20.00 environmental fee. pumunta ka sa barangay nila napakarumi.. known ang pinoy talaga na makalat, cguro sa mga organizers sana magkaroon ng briefing about basura, and hindi porket nag bayad kayo ng 100.00 entrance fee, sila manong na ang bahala sa basura nyo! pakibitbit naman. wag ibaon sa likod ng campsite!
ReplyDeleteYes, wala kasing coordination from the barangay or local gov't regarding sa tourism sa Calaguas which is really needed para ma-orient ang mga guest and ang mga locals sa mga dos and donts for the preservation of the place.
DeleteThanks also for pointing that out.
Grabe!
ReplyDeleteThat is why we are raising this issue to the Local Government para maayos nila ung rules and regulations in calaguas. Kasi for example, Bacuit Bay in El Nido, buong bay front me resorts but still super linis lagi dun and they have limitations or rules to follow because it was implemented by the local tourism or ung samahan nila which i think calaguas lacks.
DeleteThanks.
thumbs down.
ReplyDeletehoping makapunta ako jan before maging
exploited ang less explored na calaguas.
I haven't been to Calaguas yet but do hope that the issue will be addressed properly and asap.
ReplyDeleteAnonymousMay 1, 2012 01:40 AM
Give it a few years and it will be just like Puerto Galera. It would be nice to have a variety of beaches here in the Philippines (party beach, diving beach, virgin beach, etc) but many people can't seem to understand that concept.
ReplyDeleteWhen we went there last year, another group lit up firecrackers, so the loud sounds really disrupted the peace at night. Worse, one of their firecrackers reached our campsite and almost landed on one of the tents with two people sleeping inside. Had the firecracker hit the tent, my friends would have been roasted in seconds. Tsk tsk. Luckily, the firecracker landed on a slipper outside the tent. But it was still a major hassle because my friend didn't have an extra pair of slippers and had to borrow a pair of sandals from me.
I just want to add that in my visit last year, my friends and I took it upon ourselves to gather up trash for a couple of hours before dinner. We ended up with two sacks of trash. I just really wish people could clean up after themselves!
ReplyDeletehahahaha i heard that "music thingy" when me and my group was there last week. Sana lang it would succumb to a "Anawangin" which became so crowded with structures and division...
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that it stays desolate and clean. But aside from the music, i agree that we must also look at the proper way of disposal of garbage esp from the us, tourist visiting there....
The owners of the huts, collects the garbage from the bins but i believe what they do to the trash is just burn it or bury it on an open pit.
Mas maganda parin siguro na i-practice natin yung Leave Nothing, i-uwi esp yung recyclables sa Manila or sa alam natin may collection ng garbage by the LGU, hindi sa isla na walang ppuntahan kundi sa apoy or sa lupa. The bio stuff can be buried and take its natural toll.
Paracale Port on the other hand was littered w/trash not to mention there is a large scale mining of gold at the sea itself as seen by 3-4 mining barges and some structures located at the mountain side...
haaay...
we were there last april 30 to may 1...it was my first time to go to Calaguas. sana lang yung mga pupumunta dun kung ano ang dinalang basura yun din ang iuuwi nila for proper disposal. "leave nothing but footprints"...in the next 2 years or less baka matulad na rin ang Calaguas sa ibang isla sa Pilipinas na daig pa ang na gang-rape dahil sa kapabayaan ng mga pumupunta doon. tsaka wag po tayo kukuha o papatay nang ano mang living creatures na matatagpuan doon. gaano man kaliit o kalaki yun makakaapekto yun sa ecosystem ng lugar. malinis pa ang isla...sana tumagal pa iyon ng mahabang panahon. wag po tayong barubal para tumagal pa iyon.
ReplyDeletePlease preserve Calaguas, ho[pe its not that mapanghi and noisy when i go there...
TAKE NOTHING BUT PICTURES, LEAVE NOTHING BUT FOOTPRINTS,
I don't believe in the words inevitable, kasi as long as you know kung saan galing ang problema, meron at meron paraan para iwasan ang mga ganyan. Good luck sa inyong battle! I support whoever cares for Calaguas preservation.
ReplyDeletewent there two weeks ago for the first time.the place was great. the night, however, was horrible. it was just too noisy if you ask me. everyone was crazy drunk. the lights and sounds were on the WHOLE NIGHT! wish the organizer(s) would do something about this issue. sooner or later, this paradise will turn into a wasteland. seriously.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Calaguas thrice last year. Maganda pa yung place that time. I was saddened by this news. :(
ReplyDeleteWaaahh anong nangyari sa Calaguas... we all of us should be responsible to preserve it.. Mag set dapat ng rules to follow while in Calagus...
ReplyDeleteI went in Calaguas for five times in 2009 with my friends from london and sydney. it was paradise and one of the best places ive been on the planet. come november this year, i will go back on the islands with friends and classmates at university of sydney. i hope that filipinos will value what they have because a place like calaguas is unique, but if you keep on throwing rubbish and various kinds of waste anywhere and everywhere, calaguas will be like boracay soon and that will be very sad. i am a filipino but i was born in australia and i dont have any family in the philippines but i always go back to my roots and heritage. i will post again here on this blog for an update of what calaguas looks like after our visit. cheers mate!
ReplyDeleteExpect for worst, as calaguas island selected as one of new tourist destination that might be develop.
